New Policy Executive for WAFarmers

WAFarmers today welcomed Grady Powell to the team as the organisation’s third full time Executive Officer Policy (General).

WAFarmers Chief Executive Officer Stephen Brown said Grady represented the first of at least two roles to be filled early in 2016 with additional staff, after a very successful year in 2015.

“Grady will be responsible for our largest Policy area, General, which involves issues such as transport, farm economics, land clearing, regional communities, fracking and gas, and a wide range of other issues that impact agriculture during any given year,” Mr Brown said.

“The issues facing the state’s agricultural sector are continually evolving, so the appointment of Grady will see the interests of our members increasingly represented on local, state and national levels.

“Grady’s previous experience as Research and Policy Officer to The Hon. Ken Baston MLC, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in conjunction with his past and current studies in Politics and International Studies, Environmental Science and Sustainable Development, will bring a dynamic new edge to the organisation.

“We look forward to having Grady on the team and having him represent the interests of our members on a local, state and national scale.”

ENDS.
