Motor injury insurance premiums have increased

All Western Australian motorists, including WAFarmers Members, are reminded that as of 1 July this year, motor injury insurance premium rates have increased in WA as insurance cover expands for motorists. The new expanded cover ensures that all people catastrophically injured in motor vehicle crashed in WA are provided necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support.

The increase for per family car and motorcycle is an additional $99 for the first year of the new scheme. The additional cost for most tractors will be $25, while the premium increase for mopeds, farm fire-fighting vehicles and vintage cars will be $30.

See the table below for a breakdown of vehicle premiums including expanded cover from 1 July 2016. Click here for more information from the Insurance Commission of Western Australia. Click here for a Licences Surcharge list, supplied to WAFarmers last year by The Nationals.
